We Provide Unlimited Food For Education
The Challenge & Our Solution
The Challenge
Extreme poverty often results in children from low-income families being forced to drop out of school in order to earn money and support their families. This not only limits their opportunities for education and future success but also perpetuates the cycle of poverty for future generations.

Our Goals
The Akshaya Patra Solution
In 2000, the Government of India recognized the critical need to address classroom hunger and launched the Midday Meal Program to provide nutritious meals to every child in its government schools. This ambitious program aimed to feed 120 million children across the country.
Akshaya Patra Foundation USA has been a proud partner of the government of India for its Mid-day Meal Program for over 22 years. We have been working closely with the government to provide hot, nutritious meals to school children in government and government-aided schools in India. Through this partnership, we have been able to make a significant impact on the lives of millions of children, helping to ensure that no child goes hungry while they are in school and improving their overall well-being and educational outcomes.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The Mid-day Meal Program serves as a critical intervention to address hunger and education simultaneously. For many children, this meal may be the only one they receive in a day. It is a vital step towards addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which serve as a blueprint for peace and prosperity. Specifically, this program addresses SDGs 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 17. By providing nutritious meals to children in school, we are working towards ending hunger and malnutrition, improving health and well-being, providing inclusive and equitable quality education, promoting gender equality, and creating partnerships for sustainable development.
The 7 goals include:
With just $20, you can provide a nutritious school lunch for one child every day for an entire school year. This small donation can make a huge impact on a child’s life, helping to ensure that they have the energy and nourishment they need to focus and learn in the classroom. By giving the gift of a healthy meal, you are giving the gift of a brighter future for that child. Visit our Donation Page today and make a difference in the life of a child in need. Every donation counts, and together, we can create a better future for children in India.
Studies conducted by UNICEF and other international
organization have demonstrated that children experiencing
hunger are more likely to have problems with
Memory and Concentration
because their brains do not have the energy to carry out
these functions.
